This is Me!

Hi! I’m Robin and I’m a bookaholic.
*Hi Robin.*

My goal in life is to become a published author. I have wanted to be a writer since forever and I am starting to make that dream a reality. It’s a long Β complicated road, but I have every faith it will be worth the effort.

For now I write short stories and poems here in my little slice of the interwebz, along with book reviews. Though most of the books I review have been released in the current calendar year, I may wander back a bit if I am new to a book or series.

Also I am a huge nerd and gamer. If I have read it, watched it or played it, I’m probably in the fandom. Don’t be surprised when my nerd leaks out. I have no control over it … just ask my husband!

So that’s basically the blog: Read. Write. Nerd. Repeat!

Let’s see … a few things you may want to know about me:

1. I am a 30-something wife and mother of three. I have a degree in veterinary technology, which may explain why I have four dogs (chihuahuas) and one really fat cat named Captain Jack. I grew up in the PNW, but now call Utah home – even after vowing never to return after spending my high school years at a boarding school here.

2. I am adopted. Yes, I have known my whole life; yes, I love my parents; and no, I have not met my birth family.

3. I amΒ bipolar, but medicated. In my experience, people usually run after hearing that. If you choose to, no hard feelings. There is a stigma regarding mental illness and it scares people. I get it. But being this way is my normal and I won’t apologize for it. Mostly I’m harmless, but I do tend to ramble when manic and am forgetful and lethargic when depressed.

4. I was born with a neurological disorder called hydrocephalus. My existence depends on a plastic tube and valve pumping CSF away from my brain cavity. I get really bad headaches, stumble over words when speaking, and have developed balance issues in my adult life.

If you have any questions regarding the above points, I’m more than happy to try and answer them to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks for being here. Stay shiny!
